Why choose this product
8K 360° capture
Dual 1/1.28-inch sensors and a triple AI chip system deliver detailed footage and stronger low-light performance.
Shoot first, frame later
The Invisible Selfie Stick effect, subject tracking and InstaFrame let you turn one recording into multiple formats.
A level horizon in every move
FlowState Stabilization and 360 Horizon Lock smooth footsteps, vibration and full camera rotations.
Built for adventure
Replaceable lenses, improved wind reduction and waterproofing to 15m help you keep shooting in demanding conditions.
One recording, multiple formats
An X5 360° recording can become both a horizontal video and a vertical social clip without moving the camera or missing the key moment. InstaFrame can save a ready-to-share flat video while retaining the full 360° file for later reframing.
More dependable footage in difficult light
Large 1/1.28-inch sensors, PureVideo processing and a triple AI chip system preserve more detail at dusk, indoors and in high-contrast scenes. Replaceable outer lenses extend practical service life because a damaged lens can be changed without replacing the whole camera.
Audio and control for active filming
Improved wind reduction helps retain clearer audio on the move, while voice and gesture control can start recording when the camera is out of easy reach. Magnetic mounting and fast charging reduce downtime between shots, and 15m waterproofing covers many situations without an extra housing.
Frequently asked questions
How does X5 perform in low light?
Dual 1/1.28-inch sensors capture more light, while the triple AI chip system and PureVideo Mode reduce noise and optimize brightness and dynamic range.
How large are the Insta360 X5 sensors?
The camera uses dual 1/1.28-inch sensors. Insta360 specifies a 2.44μm equivalent pixel size and up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range.
What does InstaFrame Mode do?
InstaFrame records a ready-to-share flat video and the full 360° file at the same time. The flat video is available immediately, while the 360° file can be reframed later.
Is X5 compatible with X4 accessories?
X5 uses the same 1/4-inch mounting point, so universal 1/4-inch accessories can be compatible. Form-fitting X4 cases, dive housings, frames and charging accessories generally do not fit because X5 has different dimensions and construction.
What charger does X5 need?
A 9V/3A charger with PD support is recommended for faster charging. A 5V/3A charger also works, but charging may be slower.
Which microSD card should I choose?
Use a UHS-I V30 or faster card. For 8K video or prolonged continuous recording, Insta360 recommends at least 256GB.
